Download Android 7.1.1 Nougat Final Version For Nexus And Pixel Devices

Final version of Android 7.1.1 Nougat download is now in the process of rolling out to Nexus and Pixel devices globally for users with compatible devices.

The official final release of the Nougat 7.1.1 build follows hot on the heels of a very short-lived developer preview, and brings some features to more devices that have been previously available on the Pixel range only since its launch in October. If you are in ownership of a Pixel or Pixel XL, then you’re also in line to receive some additional goodies in the form new Moves, as well as the obligatory bug fixes and enhancements.

Since version 7.1 of the platform has been available on Pixel for a couple of months, with both general public and developers having access to it, many apps and services are already up to date to support the latest 7.1.x platform, including support for the latest features introduced in it, like app shortcuts (Apple’s 3D Touch Quick Actions-like feature for Android), GIF support in stock keyboard for apps like Hangouts and Messenger, and more.

Additionally, Android 7.1.1 also brings with it new emoji characters, better and more enhanced support for live wallpapers for those who like to bring a dynamic experience to their device, as well as Daydream VR experience.

In addition to offering a slew of new features and improvements, this latest Android rollout also comes pre-packed with the December security patch, which in itself offers patches for more than 40 vulnerabilities that range from being moderate all the way through to severe. That in itself is a good enough reason to upgrade if it’s being offered for your device.

If that’s not enough of an enticement, Android 7.1.1 on Pixel and Pixel XL also brings two new Moves that enables a device owner to double-tap to check phone or lift to check phone, similar to Apple’s Raise to Wake feature that bundles as part of iOS 10. Accompanying notes from a number of carriers, such as Verizon, suggests that a number of known issues have also been fixed with this release, such as several camera issues that have been bugging Pixel owners since launch.

How Netflix Download Feature For Offline Video Works On iOS Devices

Wondering how the download feature of Netflix for offline video playback works on iOS devices? Officials from Netflix explains the technicality behind it in an interview.

It has taken far longer than most would have liked, but Netflix finally allows subscribers to its video streaming service to download content for offline playback. Many competitors have allowed a similar feature for some time, but Netflix has begun to explain why it opted to wait to get things right rather than release something that wasn’t quite ready. Specifically, Netflix wanted to be able to keep the file size of downloaded movies and TV shows down to a minimum without compromising quality.

As you might imagine, doing such a thing is not the easiest thing in the world. However, Netflix says that technology built by Google allowed Netflix on Android to download media for offline playback with minimal issues without causing huge file downloads. That of course meant that owners with Android devices were just fine, but anyone using competing iOS devices were unfortunately out of luck. That’s where Netflix decided to get creative in order to get the job done.

Speaking with Variety, Netflix reveals that part of the magic involved splitting movies and TV shows into small, three-minute chunks ready for download. The result is a codec, Google’s VP9, in combination with file-splitting.

For its new download option, the company is taking the idea one step further: Instead of changing these settings per title, Netflix is cutting each and every video into one-to-three-minute-long chunks. Computers then analyze the visual complexity of each and every of these clips, and encode with settings that are optimized for its visual complexity.

As a result of this, files downloaded from Netflix on iOS take up to 19% less space than they normally would, which – in a world where 16GB devices are everywhere – can make all the difference.

Luigi also makes an appearance in the game with a specific skill set that makes it easy for the green plumber to attack a vertical row of enemies. There’s also appearances by Bowser, Donkey Kong, captain SAMA and many other beloved Nintendo characters that instantly look at home in the gorgeous 3D environment that’s been built into this crazy Stars Utopia iOS experience.

The first thing to remember here is that if you’re actually interested in this type of game and interaction with Super Mario before the official title launches this coming December 15th, then you really need to grab this download before Apple realizes what’s happened, and before Nintendo issues a cease and desist notice for the unlicensed use of multiple characters from the Nintendo universe.

This Android Screen Recorder Requires No Root Access To Work

Beware: 99% Of Fake Apple Chargers Fail Basic Safety Tests, Can Be Life-Threatening

Chartered Trading Standards Institute investigators have issued a warning to consumers who look to save money by purchasing non-official Apple chargers, with the information that 99% of counterfeit Apple chargers fail the most basic of safety tests, putting those who choose to use them as well as other people and properties nearby at risk.

Furthermore, when warning against the use of these counterfeit and electrical chargers, the agency said that these type of products were entirely an “unknown entity”, alluding to the fact that consumers literally have no idea if the manufacturers have tested the product thoroughly, or if the electrical item conforms to any kind of safety protocols.

The investigation into the many different types of counterfeit chargers being sold has come hot on the heels of Apple warning against the influx of fake charging accessories being sold at online retailers for charging iOS and Mac devices.

In fact, earlier in the year, Apple actually took the opportunity to update its own support website to try and educate consumers on how to spot fake charging accessory vs the real one in the hope of ensuring that iPhone and iPad owners weren’t inadvertently duped into purchasing potentially dangerous charging equipment that they believed to be official Apple wares.

Worryingly, the Trading Standards investigation has found that out of 400 of these chargers tested, only three were found to actually be produced with enough insulation that would actually protect the user against any electrical shocks. Specialist testing engineers purchased a number of these chargers from different countries including US, China and Australia, and then applied a high voltage to the equipment in order to test for sufficient insulation, with the conclusion being that a high percentage of those purchased were simply dangerous.

The conclusion being here that official goods from Apple and other manufacturers may cost a little more, with counterfeit items offering a price appeal, but in the long run the later could cause physical damage to person or property.

Apple has updated the Apple Store app for Apple Watch with the ability for consumers to shop for accessories with just a few simple taps.

Rather than simply being an accompaniment to the more feature rich iPhone and iPad version of the app, the Apple Watch version of Apple’s official Store app now allows users to purchase individual accessories – such as iPhone cases and cables – that have been viewed and added as favorite against a registered account.

It’s, of course, very difficult for Apple to offer a full browsing and shopping experience on the Apple Watch, especially considering the sheer amount of products that the company offers across multiple category types.

When you’re faced with the very small screen of the Apple Watch, it becomes a bit of a design and usability nightmare to try and build in a fully functional commerce experience. With that said, what Apple has done with this latest update is allow the Apple Watch version of the app to work in connection with the iPhone version, as well as an Apple ID logged in on Apple’s website, to facilitate the product discovery and checkout experience on the Apple Watch.

Users are simply invited to browse and favorite products, either on the iPhone app or Apple’s website, and then view them on the Apple Watch in order to checkout. The payment side of the process is handled by Apple Pay – as long as you are in one of the growing number of countries that supports Apple Pay – with all checkout and delivery details handed off to Apple via the contactless payment process. In its current form, Apple doesn’t allow high value products to be purchased this way, with the process currently only applying to accessories.
